Lady Peanut Gets A Hamilton Ventura.

A few weeks ago we were at Bicester Village and we saw a Hamilton Ventura S with a white strap and Mother of Pearl face. P tried it on and although the price was right and it looked great on she was not to be tempted.

Today we returned and that exact model had gone. Instead they had the same one but with 9 diamonds in lieu of the batons. It was more money but this time she was smitten and O now has a black faced Ventura on a stainless bracelet and this white faced version on a white strap.

This is a very stylish and unusual Art Deco looking watch which really stands out from the crowd and suits Peanut perfectly.

Watch Collection No 25 – Hamilton Ventura Elvis 80

I wrote about this watch way back in March 2015, not long after it was announced And commented on how much I liked it. Well today I got to try it and I just loved the rubber strap version on the wrist.

The case curves around your wrist  making it wear smaller than its size and also making it a very comfortable wear. I’m feeling very happy about this wrist treat!

Wearing Today – Christopher Ward C6 Kingfisher

The original silicon strap snapped into three pieces. My Hamilton Khaki Aviation is currently sporting its white summer rubber strap, so the Hamilton strap has stepped into the breach as an emergency.

The odd thing is me and Mrs P love the Orange strap detailing against the yellow face and oddly it got a lot of positive comments at work too.

Finally, matched to the Hamilton it tends to twist on the wrist and can get uncomfortable, while the Hamilton is extremely comfortable on the white rubber strap. Meanwhile The Hamilton strap on the Kingfisher doesn’t twist and is very comfortable. I think I will stick with these combos for the Summer!

The Watch Wall of Want – May 2015

Most months I will post a top ten of the watches on my want list. It is a very personal list and generally will be of watches that I can actually aspire too. It is not a list I intend to tick off as life isn’t that kind and in truth it has been a long while now since I actually bought a watch, but if funds came available it would be something off this list. Each month the list will change slightly as desires and wants change, or as watches become unavailable and so on. So here is my list for May, with photos following.

1. Hamilton Ventura Elvis 80

2. Autodromo Stradale Grey Dial

3. Christopher Ward C70 Ascari Chronometer

4. Breitling Aerospace Evo – Grey edition.

5. Frederique Constant Slimline Moonphase – blue edition.

6. Armani Grey faced Chronograph

7. Autodromo Prototipo – orange and silver edition.

8. Chopard Monaco Historique 2014 Edition Chronograph.

9. Hamilton Ladies Bagley Quartz

10. Rolex Milgauss Blue Face.

Now, have fun thinking what your top ten would be!

Hamilton Ventura Elvis80 Quartz

Stunning contemporary case architecture, intricate design detail and an asymmetric attachment fixture are teamed with a Swiss quartz movement to make a clearly modern statement. Attached by a black leather band , the watch sits comfortably on the wrist. Just as Elvis’s fusion of country music and rhythm and blues was way ahead of its time, this unisex watch has its eye firmly fixed on the future.
