The Watch Wall of Want – May 2015

Most months I will post a top ten of the watches on my want list. It is a very personal list and generally will be of watches that I can actually aspire too. It is not a list I intend to tick off as life isn’t that kind and in truth it has been a long while now since I actually bought a watch, but if funds came available it would be something off this list. Each month the list will change slightly as desires and wants change, or as watches become unavailable and so on. So here is my list for May, with photos following.

1. Hamilton Ventura Elvis 80

2. Autodromo Stradale Grey Dial

3. Christopher Ward C70 Ascari Chronometer

4. Breitling Aerospace Evo – Grey edition.

5. Frederique Constant Slimline Moonphase – blue edition.

6. Armani Grey faced Chronograph

7. Autodromo Prototipo – orange and silver edition.

8. Chopard Monaco Historique 2014 Edition Chronograph.

9. Hamilton Ladies Bagley Quartz

10. Rolex Milgauss Blue Face.

Now, have fun thinking what your top ten would be!

Chopard – Grand Prix de Monaco Historique Chrono 2014 Edition

The Grand Prix de Monaco Historique chronograph is very clearly a racing watch.  With its matt titanium case, the beautiful yellow detailing and its racing style strap, it wonderfully evokes the golden days of  Formula 1 from the past. On your wrist in the cockpit of your car this watch will be like your instrument panel on your wrist.

For the seventh consecutive year, Chopard is the sponsor and official timekeeper of the Grand Prix de Monaco Historique. On the weekend of May 10th – 11th 2014, the city of Monaco will be buzzing with the sound  track of former Formula 1 racing cars as well as old-timer Ferraris, Bugatti and other models. Traditionally, Chopard presents a chronograph in homage to each edition of this race which takes place every two years. However, this time Chopard has chosen to develop a completly new Grand Prix de Monaco Historique collection, of which the central chronograph piece is the first model to be revealed.
Myself and Lady Peanut are lucky enough to be going to the 2014 Historique Grand Prix, so it goes without saying that this delightfully crafted Chopard model has shot straight into our top ten of we want muchly watches.

Chopard Mille Miglia Zagato

The Beastie Folly panel give a huge thumbs up to this beauty, but really, we need to find more affordable watch offerings to lust over! Chopard point out that:

This limited edition Mille Miglia benefits from the respective skills of these two prestigious Houses that both nurture a passion for cars. We handle the execution, the ‘engine’ part and the chassis, while Zagato participates in creating the bodywork, the ‘passenger compartment’ and the upholstery. Continue reading

The Stunning L.U.C. Tourbillon Only Watch 2013

I am a sucker for a well executed watch video. Maybe it is the skill of making something  which on paper sounds frankly rather dull, look interesting. How can I explain this… well as a young lad my chat up line was never, “Would you like to come back and see my watch videos?” Perhaps the real sad thing is that now deep in the throes of middle age, videos such as this are now my idea of porn! Whatever!  I rather like this.
