The Watch Wall of Want – March 2014

Each month I will post a top ten of the watches on my want list. It is a very personal list and generally will be of watches that I can actually aspire too. It is not a list I intend to tick off as life isn’t that kind and in truth it has been a long while now since I actually bought a watch, but if funds came available it would be something off this list. Each month the lsit will change slightly as desires and wants change, or as watches become unavailable and so on. So here is my list for March, with photos following.

1. Breitling Aerospace Evo – Grey edition.

2. Frederique Constant Slimline Moonphase – blue edition.

3. Chopard Monaco Historique MF Time Attack.

4. Baume et Mercier Capeland.

5. Longines Hydroconquest Chronograph – Red and black edition.

6. Longines Conquest GMT blue face with matching non GMT ladies version.

7. Autodromo Prototipo – white and blue edition.

8. Tissot Visodate.

9. Christopher Ward C3 Chronograph – optic white edition.

10.Breitling Vintage Wristwatch on sale at Black Bough.

Now, have fun thinking what your top ten would be!

Wearing Today – Christopher Ward C6 Yellow Kingfisher

Christopher Ward C6

This is one of the early Christopher Ward dive watches – what I like about this is that it is a bit different, it is not the homage to a Rolex 1954 whatever and therefore similar to every other dive watch out there. No this is one on its own and as a result it is becomong a very collectible Christopher Ward watch. A joy to wear.

CHRISTOPHER WARD LAUNCH THE C9 HARRISON BIG DAY-DATE!

C9BD-SWK

Christopher ward regard the C9 Harrison range as their playground. This is the case that has given us the Mono Pusher, the Jumping Hour and the Worldtimer and now we get a Big Day Date style. It’s not a revolution, it’s not an innovation but it is an extension of a range that is shaping up to be a rather elegant and appealing selection of well made, value for money, tastefully understated watches that have that elusive enduring quality of desirability. This style of watches is not of its time in the way that you can identify say a late seventies car enthusiast chronograph watch, no it is a style that is of time itself that will still look fashionable and Gentlemanly in 30 years time.

The Harrison range is quintessential elegance and here at Beastie Folly we applaud Christopher ward for them. Continue reading

CHRISTOPHER WARD’S C7 ITALIAN RACING RED CHRONOMETER SETS THE PULSE RACING AGAIN!

C7-COSC-IRRT

Christopher Ward Press Release: February 3, 2014

The C7 Italian Racing Red Chronometer – Limited Edition

There are few sights in motorsport as evocative as a Ferrari in full flight at Monza. However, even we were surprised at the level of demand for our original C7 Italian Racing Red (C7IRR) – a watch that celebrated this most perfect of automotive unions. Rather appropriately, it became the fastest-selling timepiece we had ever created and the limited edition sold out within weeks.

With the supremely accurate, thermo-compensated ETA 251.233 COSC certified chronograph movement as its engine, the new C7 IRR is one of the most accurate watches in the world. The three sub-dials are evenly positioned around the centre of the dial while the round calendar window is neatly angled at the ‘4’ position. Add the finely-tuned precision of the case, the dashing looks of the “Toro Bravo” Italian leather of the strap with our signature Bader deployment, there is every reason to believe that this new version will also become an object of desire for Tifosi everywhere – but they’ll need to be quick off the grid, this is a limited edition of just 500.
